TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-N250 aircraft which is the work of BJ Habibie will soon be transferred to the Mandala Aerospace Museum in Yogyakarta.
Corporate Secretary OF PT Dirgantara Indonesia PTDI, Irlan Budiman said the transfer will be done immediately in order to be an education for the community. In addition, people can also get to know the late BJ Habibie through his work.
"This (N250) will be disassembled later, after that we will raft again there, because it is not possible to be flown, " said Irlan on PTDI Hangar, Bandung City, Thursday.
He said, the plane had made another country hesitate to see the airline industry owned by Indonesia. N250 was the work of the best homeland son in his class in that era and was able to raise Indonesian prestige in the eyes of the world.
"At that time N250 flew for certification to France, already flying up to Europe, this makes the world literate that Indonesia is able to make airplanes that are indeed as sophisticated enough in its class," said Irlan.
The aircraft by Habibie capable of accommodating 50 passengers has the technology ' Fly By Wire ' and is the first in the world started in the year 1992.
Irlan said, at the time about 3,000 employees were involved in the process of making the aircraft. The engineers of the manufacturer have been educated in Germany.
"Approximately 3,000 employees involved, who had the idea that Mr. Habibie, his enginer has also been schooled abroad, " he said.
Up to now, the historic N250 is still kept in PTDI hangar which is also one area with Husein Sastra Negara Airport.
