REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG - PT Dirgantara Indonesia (DI) sent an order of one type of CN235-220 Military Transport aircraft for the Nepalese army on Wednesday (10/30). The company carries out a ferry flight from the PT DI hangar to Kathmandu, Nepal, which is planned to arrive on Saturday (2/11).
Capt Esther Gayatri Saleh as the pilot who conducted the aircraft test and Copilot Ervan Gustanto flew the plane from Husein Sastranegara Airport to Medan, Yangon, Myanmar and continued to Dhaka, Bangladesh and flew back to Kathmandu, Nepal. The aircraft will also be tested by the Nepalese army.
PTDI's Managing Director, Elfien Goentoro, said that the delivery of CN235 aircraft was carried out under a Nepalese army contract in 2017. He claimed to be grateful because he could send domestic-made aircraft at the right time.
"So this multi-role aircraft, can be used to transport troops and paratroops and also for VIPs and also cargo," he said, Wednesday (10/30). He added that the configuration mode completeness facility was first sent to Nepal via cargo.
He said the plane contract value is approximately 30 million US dollars. While the value of the aircraft can be influenced by parts costs and other needs. "One unit (ordered), God willing, continue for the next," he said.
He said he got Rp 400 billion in funding from the Indonesian Export Financing Agency for exports to Africa. While Nepal around Rp 207 billion.
"Besides Senegal, which is funded by Senegal, we plan to deliver to Senegal next year. That is for CN235, transport as well," he said. Whereas the next two weeks will send to Thailand including before with different types of aircraft.
"So at the end of this year we will export three planes. For domestic purposes, we will deliver the plan to Basarnas as well," he said.
