Aceh Provincial Government Orders PT DI
BANDUNG - The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of Aceh is interested in buying four N219 aircraft from PT Dirgantara Indonesia (DI). The aircraft purchase was agreed through a memorandum of understanding between the Managing Director of PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero) (PT DI), Elfien Goentoro and the Acting Governor of Aceh, Nova Iriansyah.
The signing of the memorandum of understanding regarding the procurement of N219 aircraft and the development of Human Resources (HR) and the operation of Aceh's air transport was carried out in the Plenary Meeting Room, 9th Floor, PTDI Management Center Building, Jalan Pajajaran, Bandung, Monday (9/12).
"The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding is a follow-up evaluation of the agreement made in 2018 to achieve realistic conditions that can be achieved in the 2017-2020 RPJMA of the Aceh Provincial Government," said Managing Director, PT DI Elfien Goentoro.
The Government of Aceh Province is interested in buying four N219 aircraft units with passenger, cargo and medical evacuation configurations, as well as cooperation in the development of HR Province in the field of aerospace, by first undertaking a joint study between the Aceh Provincial Government through the Department of Transportation and PTDI as part of preparations for aircraft operations fly N219 independently by utilizing the competencies of PTDI.
PTDI and the Aceh Provincial Government also worked together in preparation for the operation of N219 aircraft in Aceh Province by utilizing the competencies of PT DI. After this signing, PTDI and the Aceh Provincial Government will conduct a joint study of the plan to procure N219 aircraft and the development of Human Resources and the operation of Aceh's air transport.
Discussions on technical and non-technical aspects of procurement of N219 aircraft will be held after the issuance of the N219 Type Certificate of aircraft by the Directorate of Airworthiness and Aircraft Operation (DKPPU) Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia.
"It is hoped that the N219 aircraft will be able to optimize its function by the Government of Aceh to serve the people of Aceh, as well as to encourage and increase accessibility and economic growth in the Aceh Province," Elfien added.
Flight Test
The N219 Nurtanio aircraft went through its inaugural flight test in August 2017 and is currently undergoing a series of certification tests. The certification process is an important process to guarantee security and safety because it will be used by customers and the general public.
"The N219 aircraft will be produced in stages. "Initially 6 units will be produced using existing production capacity, then by running an automation system in the manufacturing process, gradually the delivery capability will continue to increase until it reaches 36 units per year," Elfien said. tgh / e-12
